The spiritual legacy of the foundation of ARC Academy

Representative Nobuo Suzuki

ARC Academy was established in 1986 with the aim to cultivate Japanese language as a communication means for foreign people involved in business.

ARC means "a bridge to the world". At the time of the establishment, the Japanese economy was growing very fast and there was an increasing number of foreigners who want to do businesses with Japanese companies. The number of foreigners working in Japanese companies was also growing very fast.

Many foreign students do not only just want to learn Japanese language but also have interests in Japanese culture and history. In order to respond to this diversifying needs for Japanese language education, ARC Academy aims for opportunities to communicate with people from all around the world.

As of now, students from more than 40 countries around the world are studying in private courses and regular courses at ARC Academy. Student groups vary from students who are here just to study the language to businessmen, researchers, embassy officials, and language teachers.

Also, there is a training course in teaching Japanese offered at ARC Academy alongside the Japanese language courses catered to foreigners. This is because we want to properly train the teachers in order to respond to the demand of the increasing number of Japanese language students both in and outside of the country.

Through activities that we do, ARC Academy hopes to contribute to world peace and the future of humankind.
